Interview with Saul van Stapele & Perre van der Brink for Electronic Music Journalism at ADE 2014

Amsterdam Dance Event represents the latest developments, reflects and evaluates  them on the various panels and discussions and what is most important, through the alliances and coalitions that are shaped during the intense networking these five days, ADE has a decisive impact and huge influence on the future of Electronic Music Industry and Electronic Music Culture as a whole. ADE has developed from being at the beginning just an industry meeting to become an actual symbol of the growing importance and huge impact of Electronic Music in the recording industry business and the youth culture as a whole. The attendance at ADE itself or the sold out festivals like Tomorrowland or Mysteryland or Sensation all over the world prove that the Electronic Music industry is one of the most vital and quickly growing sectors which will shape the younger generation perceptions, attitudes and music tastes. If some years ago Electronic Music was a subculture in the periphery of the system, now it has become the mainstream without the negative connotations from the past. These considerable changes were reported by more than 400 journalists from around the world who have attended this year's event.

Interview with Tenishia on Trance Academy during Amsterdam Trance Event 2014

Amsterdam Dance Event 2014 was a tremendous success with a record breaking amount of visitors who travelled from all over the world in Amsterdam for five unforgettable days and nights. The daily conference and playground events offered the chance to stay informed about the latest developments in Electronic Music Culture and Industry while during the night every little corner in the city of the magical canals was turned into a club that hosted some of the most mindblowing events. One of the clubs that I have never been to before, Club Lite on Friday 17th of October hosted Trance Academy in associated with Jam DJ agency and Above All Records from Rotterdam. Superstars of the Trance scene like Andy Moor, Ben Gold, Super 8 & Tab, Susana Live, Bjork Akesson and the brilliant duo from Malta, Tenishia. On the second floor Above All records hosted their own stage with their fantastic new breed of upcoming trance artists and guests Dennis Sheperd and Ronski Speed from Germany.

Interview with Susana at Trance Academy during Amsterdam Dance Event 2014

Trance Academy took place on Friday 18th of October at Club Lite in Amsterdam during Amsterdam Dance Event 2014, and was organised by Above All Records from Rotterdam and Jam Agency from UK. They showcased great talents such as Bjorn Akeson, Tenishia, Andy Moor, Ben Gold, Super 8 & Dj Tab and Live performance by the beloved singer Susana. In the second room, Above All Artists joined Ronski Speed and Dennis Shepherd from Germany. It was a magnificent night with a great underground atmosphere which you don't find at many club events nowadays. It was not about special effects, lazers and pyrotechnics, it was rather focused on the DJ sets from artists who enjoy every second being behind the decks.

Review: Mark Sixma & Kill The Buzz - Rise Up

The Summer season may be over, but Hardwell continues to bring the heat with his Revealed Recordings releases way into the Winter months. Kill The Buzz is undeniably a familiar face on the Revealed roster, with radio smash ‘Life Is Calling’ and huge-hitter ‘Carbon’ continuing to keep him on the radars of those who matter, now, this Breda boy stands alongside Netherlands native Mark Sixma for the unavoidable anthem ‘Rise Up’. A newcomer to the Revealed Recordings family but still certain to make a splash with his workings, Mark Sixma - also hailing from Breda – has remixed the likes of W&W also on the label, with ‘Rise Up’ being his inaugural release. Co-produced with Kill The Buzz and causing a frenzy at his Ministry of Sound set recently, the anthemic, melodic twists and turns of ‘Rise Up’ confirm the release as undeniably Revealed, with both artists still stamping their unique identities across the four minute, high-energy release.

ADE 2014 Amsterdam Music Festival 2014 The Clash of the DJ Titans

Amsterdam Music Event in 2014 was definitely the biggest and most successful of all times so far. The absolute highlight was the Amsterdam Music Festival that this year took place at the magnificent Amsterdam Arena that events like Sensation were organised in the past. Last years Amsterdam Music Festival included variety of stages but this year everything was focused on the mainstage that included DJ sets only from headliners DJs. You can easily guess that this was the ultimate Clash of the Titans of electronic dance music in front of the eyes of thousands of fans who travelled in Amsterdam from all over the globe who came to party, sing a long, jump and getting trashed completely out of their heads.

ADE 2014 Armada Night during Amsterdam Dance Event.

Armada Night at Amsterdam Dance Event took place on Wednesday 15th of October at the well known Heineken Music Hall and was organised by Alda Events. It featured spectacular performances by Armin van Buuren, Dash Berlin, the special — first time in Europe — LIVE set from GAIA, and sets from Andrew Rayel, Cosmic Gate, Orjan Nilsen, Tube & Berger, KRONO, MaRLo and Kevin Duane. The venue was packed from very early and the crowd was prepared to trance the night away. The stage was ultra large with gigantic screens and superb lighting effects and lazers. It definitely manage to create a very special sacred atmosphere and put the crowd in a state of trance.

Feature: Tomorrowland Resident DJ Yves V takes the DJ Mag Top 100 DJ Pool by storm

In 2011, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike were spotted for the very first time in this illustrious top 100. As mere youngsters, they already scored 79th place, soaring to number 38 the following year. The rest is history. And now, once again, there's a Belgian DJ making a splash on the Top 100. Antwerp native Yves V has rocketed in at number 55. An impressive arrival that certainly won't go unnoticed.

Yves V is one of the top DJs in Belgium and has already been making quite a name for himself abroad. Since 2007 he has been a fixture on the main stage at Tomorrowland and he can proudly claim to be the only Belgian DJ to have continuously appeared on the sensational Tomorrowland main stage for so many years in a row. His remix of Insane Pressure in 2009 was an absolute breakthrough in Belgium and received extensive airplay. In 2012 together with the Belgian producer Basto! he released the song Cloudbreaker. This highly successful release landed a well-deserved place at number 25 in the Flemish Ultratop, and at number 29 in the Dutch Single Top 100, but in Russia, the song was a fully fledged number 1 hit. At TomorrowWorld in the United States, together with star DJ Regi, Yves V released the track “Wait Till Tomorrow”.

Feature: Hardwell Crowned #1 DJ in the Top 100 DJs Poll for a second consecutive year

Dutch musical titan Hardwell has done it again – being crowned World’s #1 DJ in the 2014 edition of DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs Poll for a second consecutive year. After a prolonged dominance from a pioneering few, Hardwell made history in the 2013 edition of the Top 100 DJs poll by claiming the top spot for the first time in his career and becoming the youngest ever winner at just 25 years of age. Now after a colossal 12-month period of hit records and global tours, Hardwell’s succeeded in holding on to the title of the World’s #1 DJ for a second term and cementing his place atop of the scene’s elite.
Over the coming year Hardwell, fresh from claiming this prestigious accolade for the second year running, is set to deliver a series of projects befitting the World’s #1 DJ. With the announcement of his I AM HARDWELL - United We Are world tour that kicks off with a spectacular show at the Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome arena on January 24th, a mouth-watering run of releases penned from his label Revealed Recordings, including the emotively titled “Young Again,’ that’s out now. Coupled with a series of exclusive club and festival shows to be announced in the coming weeks and months and, most excitingly, the imminent arrival of his eagerly anticipated debut artist album ‘United we are,’ which will be release on January 23rd. The future for one of dance music’s biggest doyen’s looks very much rock solid.

Revealed recordings presents ADE 2014 Sampler

From hosting arenas at festivals across the planet including Creamfields to its annual showcase at Amsterdam Dance Event, along with the imprint’s consistent chart toppling output, label head Hardwell now present Revealed’s official ADE sampler selection.

Across eighteen tracks presenting the finest Revealed has to offer, from familiar names such as Hardwell himself, over to Dannic, Joey Dale and Sick Individuals, highlights of the release celebrate the label musical dominance of the Revealed sound. Take Marc Benjamin’s colossal track ‘The Centre’, it’s transcending melody carrying the backbone of the beat, before the huge drop comes in and sweeps you away with gigantic force. First premiering on Hardwell On Air radio show earlier this month, ‘The Centre’ has had fans waiting with baited breath not only for further news on Marc’s next release, but also what the next treat to be dripped out from the sampler will be...

Review: Thomas Gold feat. Kate Elsworth - Colourblind

Review: Thomas Gold feat. Kate Elsworth - Colourblind out on Revealed Recordings. The festival season and its associated energy may now be over, but Hardwell’s Revealed Recordings imprint is yet to let the landmark anthems stop flowing.  After one of the label’s most prolific summer runs to date, Thomas Gold joins the trail of Revealed’s year of reckoning, making an unprecedented debut for the label after landmark releases for Axtone, Phazing and a whole host of high-caliber labels. As premiered at his titanic Governors Island performance in New York, “Colourblind” reunites the German heavyweight with Australian songstress Kate Elsworth, adding another big room powerhouse to Gold’s sizeable discography.  Dropping off the heels of a solid run of instrumental hits for the label, the track sets an impressive precedent for vocal dance music within the modern market.  Fusing huge big room energy with yet another unforgettable Elsworth topline, the track shows the lasting stamina of melodic dance music and how Thomas Gold is still pioneering the sound on his own unique merits. When Revealed Recordings lets loose a vocal anthem, it seldom passes quietly. Thomas Gold and Kate Elsworth’s latest is as greater testament to the talented duo as it is to their versatile streak of market dominance here in 2014.

Interview: French/Canadian DJ/Producer Matt Cerf

French Canadian DJ/Producer Matt Cerf made his debut in trance with his former band Second Sun in 2001 with the trance classic Empire (Vandit Records).  After getting a taste of fame he and the group moved to Los Angeles to pursue their dreams further.  They split in 2002 and Matt started his solo career.  Eventually he would meet partners Shawn Mitiska & Jaren and after several solo releases the three would partner up to release trance classics like Light The Skies (2006) and eventually Man On The Run (2008), their most successful collaboration with Dash Berlin.

In 2012 Matt and the trio, then called Cerf, Mitiska & Jaren, released a full length album on Armada Records called Give Me A Sound. The album featured 13 original tunes, including chart toppers like Beggin' You, Man On The Run, and Witness.  It also featured four official music videos.  Their success was short lived and the trio split later that year.

TomorrowWorld 2014 Interviews: Carl Bouckaert, Venue Owner, & Bill Edwards, Commissioner

TomorrowWorld 2014, The Arising Of Life started with big success and is already over the place in the USA media who comment on the phenomenon that came to be TomorrowWorld. For 2nd year the 3 days of the celebration of Electronic Music will be written with golden letters in the history of USA festivals. The founders of Tomorrowland scouted 100 sites all over the world before choosing Bouckaert’s Farm in Chattahoochee Hills, Georgia, just 25 miles southwest of Atlanta. The accessible yet secluded farm with its gently rolling hills, lush greenery and sparkling lakes became the site for the inaugural edition of TomorrowWorld because it happened to bear a strong resemblance to the expansive park in Boom, Belgium that has been hosting Tomorrowland since its inception in 2005.

Event News: TomorrowWorld 2014, The Arising Of Life Started With A Bang!

The first festival day of TomorrowWorld has almost finished and it was full of epic moments and brilliant music. Almost 50.000 discovered the madness and were witnesses of the Arising of Life. It has been while since an active volcano erupted on US soil – not yet counting Yellowstone of course.

But here it is. The most beautiful, dangerous-looking and beloved fire-spitting mountain we ever saw. Long have the hills of Chattahoochee been full of tremors, signs of something big coming this way. And as we all descend on the magnificent terrain, smoke in the distance reveals what we all hoped for; the TomorrowWorld volcano arising to spew its life-giving fire over thousands of ravers raging away.

Review: Ralvero - District out on Revealed Recordings

2014 has been as much about familiar and reliable faces as it has groundbreaking debuts for Revealed Recordings. As the final track to ascend from the artillery of exclusives featured on Revealed Vol.5, Dutch talent Ralvero makes a lasting first impression on the label courtesy of heavyset A-side “District.” A thoroughbred Dutch big room track matching high-octane energy with uplifting melodic moments, the late-blooming festival bomb is a stunning sign-off to the summer clubbing season from a budding heavyweight of the next generation sound. Keeping the precedent set at an all-time-high enroute to Revealed’s high-profile stint at Heineken Music Hall, “District” is yet further proof that these outright surrounding Hardwell’s highly evolved imprint are still being set to a killer soundtrack.

Hardwell claims Best Electro House DJ in the Ibiza DJ Awards

After a successful summer holding down his first official residency on the White Isle at Ushuaia Ibiza, the tidal wave of success that Hardwell is riding continues to gather momentum as he adds a second straight win in the Ibiza DJ Awards. Soaring past the competition, in a category that included famed names such as Avicii, David Guetta and Steve Aoki, Hardwell’s unmistakable presence on the island this summer led him to win the accolade for ‘Best Electro House DJ’.

Hardwell to Conduct Two hour in-depth Workshop on Production at ADE 2014

Exactly one year ago Hardwell was chosen as the number one DJ in the world. And on October 18th he will be doing a 2-hour in depth workshop in the Interface Magazine Room at ADE Next. Musical maturity came swiftly for the now seasoned veteran Robbert van de Corput, a.k.a. Hardwell. The electronic scene's newest superstar DJ first got noticed at the age of 14, and has since become a global phenomenon. His output of big room bangers over the past year has seen a bundle of anthems dominate charts and dance floors worldwide. He is also the label boss of Revealed Recordings and has scored seven consecutive #1’s on Beatport, proof that his studio output has never been more prolific or more on point. Tracks such as his anthemic hit Spaceman, Three Triangles (Losing My Religion), Countdown, and Jumper, alongside the hard-hitting Apollo and his scorching collaboration with Dyro and Bright Lights, Never Say Goodbye, have been some of the biggest records of the past couple of years. In this ADE Next workshop, Hardwell will focus on one of his tracks, offering insights into the production process with Logic Pro, looking at kick sounds, sub bass, side-chaining, mixing and mastering. And of course there'll be plenty of time to ask all the questions you want.

Review: Hardwell & W&W - The Dance Floor Is Yours FREE Download

Unlock the FREE download now by Hardwell & W&W - The Dance Floor Is Yours on: http://www.dancefloorisyours.com by using #DanceFloorIsYours on Twitter!

The already known united force of Hardwell and W&W come together one more time for a brand new production and exclusive free download: ‘The Dance Floor Is Yours.’

Born out of a late night studio sessions together in Holland with the two super powers of the electronic scene, Hardwell first premiered this track at EDC 2013, the big-room sound of ‘The Dance floor is Yours’ unmistakably has all the call signs of a Hardwell and W&W classic, readied to set alight festival sets and parties under the Ibiza sun this track has been destroying dance floors for the entirety of the summer season.

Review: Hardwell & Joey Dale feat. Luciana - Arcadia The Remixes out on Revealed Recordings

Off all the landmarks to bless Revealed Recording’s year of big room reckoning, the union of Hardwell and Joey Dale culminated in one of its proudest vocal outings to date. Now, the Luciana-versed festival anthem receives a second wind courtesy of  two huge new remixes, collecting two rising Dutch forces and bringing two opposing worlds together for an essential return to the spotlight for “Arcadia.” Already praised by the label head honcho himself and landing off the heels of recent label single “Ravefield,” promising newcomer Thomas Newson wastes little time extending his positive repertoire with the label. That practiced melodic big room sits right at home once again, marking another huge remix on the young talent’s discography. For their debut stint for the label, fast-ascending hardstyle duo Psyko Punkz kick things up a notch with adrenaline fuelled stamina, merging the original track’s uplifting properties with their own relentless aptitude towards dance music’s heavier sound. As Revealed fast approaches the final hurdle of 2014, there is little indication of its versatile hold on the digital market sliding where remix duties are concerned.

Review: Dannic feat. Bright Lights - Dear Life The Remixes out on Revealed Recordings

Entering the year as a global festival staple and a fresh addition to the DJ Mag Top 100, it has been far from a quiet year for Breda’s DANNIC. Having dominated the year as early as Miami with his essential vocal anthem “Dear Life,” the Bright Light’s collaboration receives a formal remix package from a handful of the globe’s hottest big room properties on offer. Dutch duo Bassjackers kick things off with their own rave primed offering, bringing festival fundamentals to the original’s uplifting core.  For Californian bass master Lucky Date’s take on the track, huge melodic progressions and an epic big room climax bring “Dear Life” into the progressive world, leaving Blasterz gritty electro hallmarks and huge charge of peak time energy time sign-off this killer package. Extending the shelf life of an essential installment for DANNIC and Revealed alike, it takes only the cream of the label’s budding crop to bring “Dear Life” back into the spotlight for the final streak of 2014.

Review: KSHMR & DallasK - Burn Original Mix out on Revealed Recordings

The road to Amsterdam Dance Event beckons yet another mutual debut for from rising North American stars KSHMR and DallasK, who take to Revealed Recordings with a mighty first strike amid a year of market domination for its roster. As premiered by Hardwell at Tomorrowland and mistaken to be one of his own IDs, “Burn” is high octane big room of the highest caliber from two fast ascending talents, matching upfront festival energy with huge melodic moments to seal yet another fine moment for the label and its ever-expanding roster. Just when you thought things couldn’t get hotter for Revealed in 2014, the inauguration of KSHMR and DallasK proves that there is little chance of this international powerhouse cooling things down enroute to the New Year.
