![]() Total experience Preparations for the eighth Tomorrowland festival started a few months ago. As usual, visitors will be immersed in an outlandish world of magical fantasy. For three whole days, they will be indulged and pampered. Fairy-tale décor, a gigantic dance valley, celebrity chefs, cosy chill-out areas, fresh cocktails, spectacular acts, water crossed by miniature bridges, stunning fireworks, and the world’s finest stages and best DJs together ensure an enthralling experience that is without parallel.
This year, the organisers plan to go a
step further and invest even more in décor, service, the overall
experience, the finishing touches and safety. Everything, from the main
stage to the napkins, will be refined even further, and every detail
will be designed to stir the visitor’s imagination. An all-out effort
will be made to sketch, design and finally build in order to transform
De Schorre into a surrealistic festival where 180,000 young people can
experience the summer’s finest festival weekend.
More YouTube views than the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games More Facebook fans than Cirque Du Soleil Last year, Tomorrowland welcomed visitors from exactly 50 countries, and was sold out in just four days. But since the official after movie became a global hype on YouTube, things have really taken off. In the space of five months, the after movie was watched more than 19 million times, to which a further 200,000 views have now been added. Around 1.5 million Brazilians and 1.5 million Spaniards have viewed the after movie, as well as 700,000 Mexicans, 600,000 Swedes, 500,000 Canadians, 400,000 Australians and 300,000 Irish. It has been watched many more times than the Olympic Games opening ceremony, and even the wedding kiss of Prince William and Kate Middleton on the balcony of Buckingham Palace cannot beat the popularity of the Tomorrowland after movie. Along with this success, the Facebook page has also experienced exponential growth. The page already has some 750,000 members, and that total continues to grow by 8,000 new fans every day. This means that Tomorrowland has even more fans than Cirque De Soleil, and leaves every other festival in the world far behind. As a result, for the past few months the organisers have been overwhelmed with ticket requests from all over the world. For instance, there have been more than 25,000 requests from foreign travel agencies, and the craziest proposals have been received from those wishing to order tickets early. The organisers, ID&T, have turned down all requests, so that we can give all visitors as fair a chance as possible of buying tickets. Today all the ticketsale – information will be online. On Saturday 7 April sales start for Belgium and the rest of the world. From the 1st of March the travelpackages will be available. Tomorrowland aircraft from all over Europe In view of the high demand from abroad, a unique partnership has been set up with Brussels Airlines. On 26 July, Tomorrowland flights will depart from 11 European capitals, carrying visitors to Brussels from Barcelona, Madrid, Rome, Milan, Geneva, London, Berlin, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Lisbon and Porto. This is a unique partnership that has never previously been set up for an event. The visitors will check in at a Tomorrowland desk in their country of origin and will be accompanied by their own hostesses, and when they arrive buses will be ready to take them straight to the hotel or DreamVille campsite. After the festival, they will be brought back to the airport in Brussels. Manu Beers, Tomorrowland organiser: “For both us and Brussels Airlines, service and safety are paramount, so it seemed like a good match to us. As the icing on the cake, we’ll be able to give the flights a Tomorrowland look – both inside and out! Even on the flight on the way to the festival, you’ll be immersed in the right atmosphere, and this partnership enables us to start the festivities while the plane is still in the air.” Names already announced: Since 1 January 2012, one name has been released every day.
