Best Of 2013 Interview: Sean Tyas

Best Of 2013 Interview: Sean Tyas
Best Of 2013 Interview: Sean Tyas. A New York native now residing in Switzerland, Sean Tyas is one of the brightest new stars to rise from the Trance scene in recent years. He first broke onto the scene when Sander van Doorn selected him winner of the 'Punk'd' remix competition, leading to the Discover label to sign up his early releases such as 'Lift' which captured the imagination of the Trance community.

This proved to be the start of Sean Tyas emerging as one of the most talented and in-demand producers in EDM today, having co-produced with Armin van Buuren on 'Intricacy', remixed the likes of 'Suburban Train' for Tiƫsto, 'Oceanic' for Above & Beyond and 'Waiting' for Dash Berlin, and today releasing on a range of leading trance labels such as Armada, Vandit, Black Hole Recordings, AnjunaBeats and his own Tytanium Recordings, while simultaneously spreading his nu-school electro-tech sounds on sought-after labels including Tone Diary and Burn The Fire.

Latest release is his collaboration with Noah Neiman and the amazing singer Fisher - Lose My Logic on Black Hole recordings

Dimitri: Can you tell us about your achievements in your music career in 2013 as DJ &/or producer?
Sean Tyas: This was a great year of growth for me. I wanted to learn Ableton Live for production so I have the ability to switch if needed, but also for collaborations with artists that use Live.  That took a while for me to learn it as I’m an avid Logic user and the approach is totally different, but I’m proud to say I finally know it really well.

Its f***** amazing.  Normally I think videos satirizing DJs and dance music are a bit too much but he hits it from the right angle and it really is so funny.
7) Best Online Social media network:

20) The Best Book this year, preferably related to EDM:
Sean Tyas: Books about EDM?  Not something to be reading about, its something to be experienced.  My favourite book I read this year was the Game of Thrones Vol 1-4 pack!

21) Best Movie of the year preferably related to EDM or inspired you to compose a track.
Sean Tyas: Man of Steel had some amazing music!  I would say that was certainly an inspiration to go get onto some new melodies.

Dimitri: 2014 is ahead of us; would you like to tell us your plans for future releases, tracks, albums, collaborations or DJ gigs.
Sean Tyas: Studio Album being worked on in 2014, so that will be the bulk of my work life for a while, but also some interesting collaborations coming up with the likes of Paul van Dyk, a follow-up with Giuseppe Ottaviani, and a few more. Plus several more tracks with the amazing voice of Fisher!
