Review: Joey Dale - Watcha Called Me/Shockwave

Rotterdam hopeful Joey Dale is the next young visionary to join the ranks of Revealed Recordings, debuting on the label this month a double dosage of peak time action to further his stake in the next generation talent pool for 2014. Sealed and approved via Hardwell's renowned Tomorrowworld set of 2013, the unveiling of both hotly sought after tracks take the label's ongoing new talent marathon to the next level enroute to WMC. Where "Watcha Called Me" matches euphoric energy with the big room etiquette Revealed has mastered over the years, "Shockwave" signs-off the double-track marathon with a festival primed twist to assert Joey Dale as a next generation trailblazer well worth keeping an eye on for the year ahead.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Revealed recordings is in fantastic shape with successful releases and amazing music that is a favorite of many and is supported by top jocks. It's great to see new talent Joey Dale get his chance and as it sounds this young Dutchman is here to stay. 'Watcha Called Me' is a powerful hybrid of dirty Dutch House with Electro House and Hardstyle influences. Super tough elephant size beats, aggressive that kick a** basslines and addictive epic Progressive House style synths in the breakdown followed by the epic euphoric sequence - perfect for those jump up and down moments. Urban style vocal samples are used to introduce us to the harder thunderous part that will heavily bomb the club floors and there is no escape from them. 'Shockwave' is the second track on this must-have EP. For this track he follows the progressive House meets Electro house construction that starts quite minimal and soon the tough beats and heavy basslines create that danceable tribal groove that you feel obliged to dance to without even stopping for a moment to breath. The breakdown allows the epic "Avicii style" synthy themes to come to the surface to increase excitement and decrease fatigue and boredom. The drop is ultra rough, as you would expect it to be with Hardstyle / Hardcore rhythm that works like a treat on the modern floors, and most importantly at the big open air festivals. It's one of those tracks that nobody can stand and just watch everyone who dances and has good time. You feel it's impossible to resist, and you simply want to become part of the big united crowd. Love IT!
