Silver for Willebroek DJs. The results of the annual DJ Mag Top 100 were announced Saturday night at the Amsterdam Dance Event.
This list is accepted worldwide as the official DJ top 100 ranking. Each year, millions of fans from over 100 countries vote online for their favourite DJ of the past year. Last year, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike already set a Belgian record with their 6th place on this important list. Never before had a Belgian DJ secured a top 30 place in the worldwide DJ ranking, and not only have these two brothers from Willebroek held onto their place in the top 10, they've ascended to the top 3, no less. Sandwiched between the Dutch DJs Hardwell and Armin Van Buuren, Dimitri & Mike have taken the 'silver medal', in second place. Dimitri Vegas: “We were aiming for a top 3 place, so we are incredibly honoured and of course thrilled with the number 2 spot. The list is once again proof that we have the best fans in the world. In December, we'll be starting our “Bringing the World the Madness” tour and we certainly plan to make it unforgettable, as a way of thanking our crowd for the outrageous parties and performances they've made possible in the past year, and we'll keep on dreaming of the number 1 place, but that's still all in the future, of course.” Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have a huge fan base. The DJ duo's Facebook page has nearly 6 million fans from Belgium and around the world.

On Friday the 19th and Saturday, 20th December, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike will be in Belgium to kick off their 'Bringing the World the Madness' tour. In the meantime, all 20,000 tickets for the show on Saturday have sold out and there are just a few places still available for Friday. Seats actually, but don't let that hold you back. Like Mike has already pointed out that “there's nothing wrong with dancing on your chair” as was enthusiastically demonstrated last year. That's when the DJ brothers blew the roof off of the Sportpaleis, and this year they've got ambitious plans as well. Together with the creative Tomorrowland-team, they'll be presenting an utterly insane production. Add to that a spectacular light show, a rock solid DJ set and fans who let it all hang out, and it's bound to be a night to remember.
From 5th October, Flanders will have a chance to get a peek behind the scenes in the life of the DJs in the TV Een programme 'People of Tomorrow'.
