During Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) on Wednesday 15 October, Herna Verhagen, CEO of PostNL, presented Dutch DJs Armin van Buuren, Afrojack, Dash Berlin and Hardwell with their very first ‘Dutch DJ’ stamps. This presentation took place on the opening day of the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) in the ADE X SAMSUNG HOME on the Rembrandt square, Amsterdam. All four DJs were there to express their gratitude for this initiative from PostNL except Tiesto, who was absent at the presentation and he personally received his first stamp at a later time. PostNL is proud to honour these dance heroes during ADE. Designer Paul du Boi-Reymond of design studio Our Machine was present and talked about the creation of the stamps in collaboration with colleague Mark Klaversteijn.
At the end of this fantastic presentation I had the honour to talk with Herna Verhagen, CEO of PostNL. I asked her to explain me why they took this decision and why in particular PostNL chose these five specific DJs to represent Holland as the capital of Electronic Music. She told me her opinion about the value and importantance of Amsterdam Dance Event, and she explained how you can listen to tracks from your favourite DJ by scanning their stamps with the specific application that is available for people to download. Also I asked her if people still used letters and stamps as much as they did in the past, and finally I asked her if she considers herself to be someone who enjoys Electronic Music, and if she enjoys going out partying. It's definitely one of the coolest interviews I have ever done and I highly recommended you watch it.
Thanks to Tim Boersma at BFCC for his invitation to attend this event.
