Markus Schulz - Nominated For 5 Awards At the 28th Annual International Dance Music Award! The shortlist for the 2013 IDMAs has been announced and renowned DJ, producer, broadcaster and label head Markus Schulz has picked up nominations in 5 of the Awards most hotly anticipated categories.
Celebrating its first decade on air, Markus’ weekly Global DJ Broadcast show is back in contention for Best Radio Mix Show and he’s also been shortlisted for the highly prized Best Global DJ gong. Schulz is equally well represented on the music release front. He’s picked up a nod for his eighth City mix-compilation, the former MIXMAG Album of the Month ‘Los Angeles ‘12’. From his 2012 artist album ‘Scream’, the Ana Diaz vocalled ‘Nothing Without Me’ is vying for Best Trance Track of 2012. Adding to his clutch of noms, Markus’ Coldharbour Recordings joins Ultra, Defected, Ministry of Sound, Spinnin’, Toolroom and parent-label Armada in the role call for Best Global Music Label. Following the IDMA’s announcement yesterday, Markus said: “across all the areas of music I work in its been 12 magnificent months to remember and I’m delighted that the fans have seen fit to place me in so many IDMA categories this year. I look forward to seeing as many of them as possible throughout the course of Winter Music Conference, at Space and UMF. See you all in the Sunshine State folks!”

The combined influence of his headlining DJ sets; Armada and Coldharbour label releases and highly prominent Global DJ Broadcast radio show have placed him at the forefront of the US EDM revolution. This success has been reflected in weekly sets spun in front of tens of thousands, a GDJB listenership up in the millions and critically acclaimed albums, including ‘Do You Dream?’ and most recently ‘Scream’. In 2008 Schulz broke into the # 10 of DJ Mag’s Top 100 chart. Maintaining a successive run of high-ranking positions, he most recently polled #13. In late 2012 he came #1 in US EDM magazine DJ Times’ annual DJ poll and was named America’s Best DJ. Playing over 150 gigs a year, he has become the busiest international DJ playing out of the United States.
