TomorrowWorld 2014, The Arising Of Life started with big success and is already over the place in the USA media who comment on the phenomenon that came to be TomorrowWorld. For 2nd year the 3 days of the celebration of Electronic Music will be written with golden letters in the history of USA festivals. The founders of Tomorrowland scouted 100 sites all over the world before choosing Bouckaert’s Farm in Chattahoochee Hills, Georgia, just 25 miles southwest of Atlanta. The accessible yet secluded farm with its gently rolling hills, lush greenery and sparkling lakes became the site for the inaugural edition of TomorrowWorld because it happened to bear a strong resemblance to the expansive park in Boom, Belgium that has been hosting Tomorrowland since its inception in 2005.
Interview with Carl Bouckaert, Venue Owner
Mr. Bouckaert, how did it feel to welcome 40,000 people in your backyard last September?
Carl Bouckaert: It definitely was a big party! It truly felt great to see all these thousands of young people from all over the world gathered here in South Fulton County to enjoy the best electronic dance music festival in the world. You could really feel this amazingly positive, peaceful and happy energy everywhere you would go.
I tremendously enjoyed every phase of the project, from the months of preparation, to the build-up in the month of September, to the actual festival. The team behind this mind blowing project is amazing. They give attention to the smallest detail, whether it be about security or an element of the decor, everything needs to be perfect and in harmony. The way they integrated this fairytale concept in the natural setting of this property was stunning. My wish last year was to show the world our Southern hospitality and I think we did just that!
You are very adamant about keeping not only your property but also this area green and beautiful. Did the TomorrowWorld organizers respect that?
Carl Bouckaert: Very much so. Sustainability is a high priority for them. During the festival they were constantly cleaning up and once everyone left and all the stages were removed, they made sure the property was restored to its natural beauty.
Now that you see the 2nd edition coming alive in the property, what are some of your thoughts?
Carl Bouckaert: I am just as excited as last year to see the world come together again. Last year was a fabulous first edition, so this year should be even better, since we all have more experience to fine-tune it even more. I can’t wait.
The commissioner Bill Edwards of the Fulton Council, District 7 was interviewed about TomorrowWorld too.
Commissioner Edwards, now that the 2nd TomorrowWorld is almost upon us, how do you look back on the first edition?
Bill Edwards: Allowing TomorrowWorld to take place in South Fulton County has been one of the best decisions in my 14 years as County Commissioner. Not only did it expose our beautiful community to the entire world, but it also generated an incredible amount of revenue in the local economy. TomorrowWorld put South Fulton County on the world map, not only as a beautiful area, but also as a friendly community that welcomes business.
Bill Edwards: The festival is extremely well managed and professionally run. Nothing is left to chance. Behind the scenes it is run as a very tight ship, with amazing safety precautions, on and off site, a very thorough, real-time traffic plan and strict adhesion to the hours of operation and the sound limitations. As a visitor, all you see is amazing decorations, world class DJ’s and most of all three days of happiness!
Are you and your staff ready for the second edition of TomorrowWorld?
Bill Edwards: Yes, we are ready now and we will be ready for the next ten years as well.
Thanks to Debby Wilmsen, TomorrowWorld spokesperson, for suppling the interviews!
